Friction Management - Meet Las Vegas

Tamarack Habilitation Technologies staff just returned from the 90th Annual American Orthotic & Prosthetic Association (AOPA) Assembly in Las Vegas, Nevada. AOPA welcomed well over 2,000 attendees, including manufacturers, distributors, central fabrication facilities and other association resources. Not to forget all the Orthotists, Prosthetist, Pedorthists and other practitioners and technicians.

Highlights at the Tamarack counter (located in the Becker Orthopedic booth), included the new 95 durometer dorsiflexion assist joints, Tamarack hand punch and ShearBan low-friction interface.

For all our ENGO Blister Prevention Patch customers:

Did you know…. ShearBan was Tamarack’s first low-friction, pressure sensitive adhesive product? ShearBan was  launched in 1998 to the orthotic & prosthetic marketplace for the management of skin tissue trauma in patients wearing ankle-foot orthoses or lower-limb prostheses. Tamarack further developed ShearBan, making it thinner and more durable for athletes. In 2004, the outcome of decades of friction management research became ENGO Performance Patches - later rebranded to become the current “ENGO Blister Prevention Patches”.
