Engo Wins at Badwater

Engo Blister Prevention Patches helped quite a few runners at last month’s Badwater Ultramarathon through Death Valley. As I worked the course, I patched the feet of many runners with major foot problems. One runner had skin on the ball of one foot which had macerated and folded over. I patched blisters on his heals first. Then I applied Spenco 2nd Skin over the skin folds, and taped over that with Kinesio-Tex tape, anchoring it with a figure 8 HypaFix tape between two toes. I placed a large Engo Patch on each insoles, where the ball of the foot touched. This combination of patch and Engo friction prevention allowed him to finish and reach his goal. Without the Engo Patch, he would have still had pain from pressure on the skin folds. I handed out quite a few Engo Patches over the race course and know they benefited the runners.
